I don't get. I just don't get it. How can one man counteract himself so largely on a national scale and still have millions of people eating out of his hand? For those of you scratching your head right now I'm refering to Barack Obama, our fearless leader. He spent the better part of the last two weeks urging the House and the Senate to push through his Stimulus Package, which totaled over a thousand pages, passed with limited Republican support, and was a bill no one got a chance to read. Then the bill gets passed and what does Obama do? Does he sign it into law? No. He takes off for a three day getaway back to Chicago.
Slow clap.

What's even more appaling about this entire thing is that the First Lady of the United States of America was seen leaving her special Valentine's Dinner with a doggie bag.
You. have. got. to. be. kidding. me.
I'm pretty sure that's why the evented the Secret Service so you could call someone and say, "Hey Agent So and So, go get me a gallon of Ben and Jerrrys", and they would do it for you. It's in bad taste to be that high up in society, in the world and to be seen carrying a doggie bag. It's seriously shake your head material.

Moving on to another issue. I just read that this Stimulus Package is acctually raising our national debt to about $12 trillion dollars. Think about that, we are supposed to be stimulating the economy and creating jobs and what not, but the bottom line, the national debt is going to be going up.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm aware that you need to spend money to make money, but this seems like too much spending. That's all this bill contains is government spending and money to agencies and towns and locals that don't need it. Scroll down and see how much money is being dished to a school district who doesn't need it.
I'm still angry that no one bothered to read the bill.

Obama's presidency is already filled with contradictions beyond the false urgency of passing this "stimulus" package, despite most of the spending not coming online until at least another year or two.
ReplyDeleteThere was no urgent need to pass this bill, and Barack is obviously in no rush to sign it, with good reason. Another contradiction, he used scare tactics to get this bill passed, I thought all the Democrats condemned "scare tactics" that Bush apparently used to promote the War on Terror agenda, which apparently is over, whether or not the Obama admin uses the same or similar tactics, whether renaming them or dressing them up as something else, or whether actually getting rid of some of them.
Another contradiction, signing an executive order to close Gitmo within a year without a set plan in place on how to deal with all the prisoners while ceasing all military tribunals of those held at Gitmo, even stopping dead in its tracks the trial of the USS Cole bomber! Yet, Obama postposted the Afghanistan troop surge because he was not satisfied with the end game plan. So hold off on the surge because not a satisfactory plan, yet order to close Gitmo without any set plan...
Most transparent government promised with no corruption/lobbyists, etc... yet the stimulus bill was not posted in full 48 hours online before being voted on and a number of nominees with glaring tax errors (a call to simplify the tax code if nothing else)
Hope and Change I can believe in indeed. He's using up my benefit of the doubt very fast.
