Day Three: January 22 2009

The March for Life was today. I hope everyone that was down there stayed warm and enjoyed themselves. The March for Life, although I have never done it, is a great thing for this country. It shows how many people really care about the issue of abortion in this country. It amazes me how that issue continues to polarize our nation and it’s people. We should be moving forward to reach some sort of “common ground” with this issue. Instead we have the Freedom of Choice Act that is circulating in our Congress. Now, while I think that abortion is nothing more then a tool each side of the isle use to ignite a debate of morals, I find it disheartening to believe that the politicians of this country, including the President of this country, would consider signing a law allowing one million unborn babies to be killed a year.

Thirty million for Planned Parenthood from the government is insane. That money could be sent into the poor neighborhoods in this country, that money could knock down some cash off the national debt. Here we are in a crazy economic downfall yet we are funding Planned Parenthood. Instead, we should educate people to make good choices.

And for those people who think that I’m nuts and just another agent of the Right Wing Conspiracy here’s a stat for you guys to think about...especially all the Obama folks out there. Abortion is the highest killer of African Americans in the United States. Think about that.

That’s all I’m going to say.

Now I’m going to talk about Obama’s idea involving former Senator George Mitchell. For those of you that aren’t avid sports fans like I am Sen. Mitchell ran what was called “The Mitchell Report”. He investigated the use of illegal drugs in baseball. The result was published and is often used to point fingers at many athletes such as Lenny Dykstra, Eric Gagne and others. However now that he is finished with that, and has been for about two years Barack and company (including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton) want to send the man to the Middle East as part of a special envoy.

My question is why? What has this man done besides tearing apart America’s past times? What makes the Obama camp think that he can fix the already terrible broken Middle East? It doesn’t make any sense...I guess only time will tell right.

I want to also hit upon one other thing...Hilary Clinton’s confirmation vote yesterday. Here was someone who didn’t vote for a single Bush appointee yet suddenly she was supposed to be swiftly voted in as Secretary of State. I just don’t understand it...isn’t politics supposed to be a give and take relationship?  But whatever...I guess Obama is still uniting the country right? I mean only 2 voted against her.

Time will tell, that is my motto now.

Also something I would like to briefly discuss is the way George W. Bush was treated on Inauguration Day. I’m sorry...I don’t care how bad he was, I don’t care what he did he was still president. It’s sad that the only time CERTAIN people feel patriotic is when they win an election. You do not boo an outgoing president...you just don’t do it.

Hope and change America, hope and change.
